These are a few of the most common questions I get asked
can't find yours? Send me an e-mail liekekoster.art@gmail.com!
1. When will my order arrive?
After receiving your order, we do our best to package it beautifully & get it ready to ship within 3 workdays. We ship most orders from the studio in the Netherlands, depending on your location shipping will take*:
1-3 workdays within the Netherlands
2-6 workdays within Europe
4-20 workdays to the rest of the world
Some orders - mostly newer originals - get shipped from the traveling studio on wheels and will take a few days extra. If you're ordering from the Netherlands, take the time for Europe in account.
*these are the set times from our delivery service (mostly PostNL) and they can change due to local shortages or Covid. Please reach out if your order is taking longer to arrive and we'll monitor your order closely!
2. How do you package my precious new artwork?
Always plastic-free!
Fine-art prints, postcards & artwear are packaged in glassine or brown paper sleeves and shipped in sturdy, recycled envelopes.
Multiple products are shipped in small cardboard boxes and padded with (recycled and/or reused) padding. We never use rediculously large boxes for small products ;)
Original artwork gets packaged with even more care: we wrap it up in a few layers of brown paper, and protect the surface with recycled cardboard. Usually we build the 'box' from recycled carboard too - so the artwork is protected and the package fits like a glove. Sometimes we use second hand or recycled fabrics too.
Orders always come beautifully packaged, with thank you cards and often a little something extra - like dried flowers, misprints, or business cards.
3. Can I collect my order at the studio?
Most often, yes you can! Our studio is located in Putten, you'll get the address after you've placed your order.
If you've purchased a newer original though, it's very likely I'm carrying it with us in our traveling van - with no permanent location (it usually changes every other day haha) So those pieces won't be available for local pickup.
4. Returns:
Every order, commission, and sale is handled with care and as much clarity and transparency as possible. My goal is for you to be completely thrilled with your purchase! Because of this, most sales are final except in certain situations. Please mail liekekoster.art@gmail.com if something is not right with your order.
Please take the time to read descriptions carefully and check colors on multiple screens if you are concerned about color variations. Feel free to ask for additional videos or mockups in your home before purchasing too! I try my best to represent the colors and tones in my work honestly and clearly.
4. How do I take care of my artwork?
I highly, strongly, suggest framing your original art or fine-art print if you didn't purchase it framed already. It will elevate the art even more and gives it the protection from dust, wetness or accidents, it deserves.
Your local framer will do an incredible job framing your artwork in a way that both fits the piece and your aesthetic! Just bring your art to him and think a little about what you'd like for your home.
You can totally frame the art yourself too. Art on paper easily goes into standard frames you purchase from any home good shop. For canvas pieces 'floater frames' might be the best option.
If you can't find a frame in the size of the painting, find one that is bigger and purchase a mat. Just google 'custom size mat board' and you'll find plenty sites where you can order custom size mattes locally.
Both original pieces ánd fine-art prints are protected with a layer of protective varnish.
Please feel free to send me an e-mail if you need a hand!
5. Subscriptions
- can I pay monthly with IDeal?
Not through the website, unfortunately, but send me an e-mail and we could send you an invoice monthly.
- when does my subscription arrive?
We ship the subscriptions every first week of the following month. So if you subscribe in March, your first subscription will arrive (depending on where you're located) somewhere between the second and third week of April.
6. Do you teach workshops or classes?
At the moment, no. It might change in the future though!
7. Can I commission a piece?
I'm trying to use as much of my painting time for my own bodies of work and currently only offer custom pieces within set 'boundaries'. You can find the options here!
8. Stockists & Galleries
I would be honored to display my art on your walls! Please send me an e-mail at liekekoster.art@gmail.com to discuss options and ideas.
9. Can I sell your products in my shop?
I'd love that! Send me an e-mail and we can discuss the options. We offer special wholesale prices.
10. Would you like to come to our festival with your van & art for sale?
Yes I would!! I love it when people invite us. We could be a unique 'attraction' on your event. Our tiny home on wheels often steals the show and we have displays to set up a small gallery in and around it. Feel free to e-mail me!
11. When are you in the Netherlands?
We usually travel around 8 months a year, but the Netherlands remains our base. In 2022 we plan to spend some time there between May and August, maaybe Christmas too.
12. Press
I always love sharing about my art & our travels with journalists, writers and bloggers! Feel free to use the photographs on my website if you give both the photographer (some of the styled images were shot by Beate Vieth) and me. E-mail me if you have any questions!
13. Rights
Who owns the rights of your artwork?
Short answer: I almost always do.
Even if you buy an original, the rights to that specific piece still belong to me. You can, of course, display it in your home or company and proudly share pictures of your interior on social media. If the artwork ends up being shown in a magazine or other media I only ask for credit (and congratulations! that means your home is super beautiful!).
I only own the rights to claim the piece as mine, to create and sell reproductions. Don't claim my art as your own, or create replicas and sell it as your own work. (honestly, it'll only deter you from finding your own voice as an artist!)
If you don't like the idea of me creating reproductions of the original you purchase, you could purchase my right to create reproductions. Please reach out if that's something you'd prefer!
