frequently asked questions.
1. Do you do commissioned work?
Yes! Commissioned work is a very special part of my business. I don't do them the whole year around though. Please send a mail to with your ideas, the desirable size and your deadline if there is any, I'll do my best to get back to you as quickly as possible!
2. I want to order a big original from your website ánd smaller work/merchandise from your Etsy-store - but I want them to come as one package and not pay double shipping. Is this possible?
Yes it is! Firstly, thank you! Secondly, of course I want you to have the best deal ánd be as eco-friendly as possible. Just make sure you enter the same address and name in both orders AND mention (preferably at both orders) at the first place you place the order that there's another order coming that you'd like to combine a website and etsy order. I will then make sure you're only paying for shipment once.
Example: Linda wants to order two postcards, a print and a bigger original from a collection on liekekoster.com. She first follows the procedure to buy the original and mentions in the mail that an etsy-order is following soon and that she'd like to have them shipped as one package. Secondly, she goes to the etsy shop and purchases the items, mentioning in the 'send not to' box that she placed an order for an original through the website as well.
3. How eco-friendly/ethical is your business?
I'm not really sure how to measure this, but I do want to stress that being good to the earth and its inhabitants (all of them), is very high on my priority list. I'm trying to recycle as much as I can for my packaging (hence why the outsides of my packages aren't the most beautiful ones you've ever seen) and I'm in the process of replacing my plastic sleeves for at least biodegradable ones - but I'm in search of alternatives to cut plastic out entirely. I'm not there yet though, so if you have any tips, please let me know!
I often stretch my own canvas with left over bits I find at art supply stores and Etsy compensates financially for the damages shipping products does to the planet. I'm aware that prevention is better than compensating though.
Next areas to be more sustainable and ethical are my painting surface - I plan on finding better alternatives, but I'm not throwing my current rolls of paper out. If you have any further questions about this matter, please contact me. I'm very open to your feedback and am always willing to learn more to do better!
4. Did you go to art-school?
No, I didn't. I did study Creative Therapy for a year and learnt a bit about the artistic process and I'm currently following basic anatomy, tonal value and shape classes at the 'Klassieke Academie' in Groningen.
